#YOUTHCULTUREPOWER
Our mission is to add on to the dynamic movement of Hip Hop Based Education by further identifying Youth Culture as a global force and one of the most powerful entry points to engaging with young people today. We also want to honor all of the Amazing Educators that paved the way for innovative methods of teaching and learning to be recognized in some of the greatest education forums around the world.
Dr. Jason Rawls is a Doctor of Education who has been working in direct service education selflessly for nearly two decades and believes that C.A.R.E. and relationships are at the pinnacle of successful student engagement. Dr. Rawls aka J Rawls is also an Internationally known Hip Hop producer, DJ and entrepreneur. J Rawls teams up with Emcee / Creative Entrepreneur / Educator John Robinson as they are finishing up their latest project Youth Culture Power (Book + Album). The project will approach hip-hop education in a different way. While most hip-hop ed projects choose to make content geared toward our new century students. Our project is geared toward hip-hop educators or educators who understand or wants to understand the importance of hip-hop culture for our new century students, as well as parents and administrators.
John Robinson has been working as a Teaching Artist in NYC for nearly a decade Integrating into middle school classes to help innovate the learning experience and helping High School seniors prep to pass the Statewide Standardized Regents Exams in NYC. In both instances Robinson has been using Youth Culture and Hip Hop's Cultural sensibilities to help build solid and safe classroom communities for learning.
Our goal with this upcoming project is to curate a space where Educators, Hip Hoppers and creatives a like can all build and network to further understand we are all connected and we have the power to make real positive changes.
